A single water droplet creating ripples across dark, still water

Every system runs on the state of the people inside it.

The Human Impact Project is a social impact organisation that helps individuals, workplaces, schools, and communities understand the human state beneath behaviour and the ripple effect that state creates through safety, leadership, learnings, relationships, culture and social change.

The purpose

Social impact begins with human impact.

The Human Impact Project explores one deceptively simple question:

What changes when we understand the human being beneath the behaviour?

Every workplace, classroom, family and community is ultimately shaped by the people inside it — by how they regulate stress, communicate, make meaning, and show up under pressure.

When a person changes the state they're operating from, it shows up in how they lead, communicate, parent, decide, repair, create and contribute.

That is the ripple effect of human impact and it's the idea behind everything we do.

Our work exists to better understand that ripple effect and turn what we know about being human into education, tools and initiatives that help people and the systems they are part of thrive.

THE RIPPLE EFFECT

Everything enters a system somewhere and leaves an effect somewhere else.

How change happens

From human state to social impact.

Policy can change what people are expected to do. Education can help change what people understand. But lasting change also requires the human capacity to put that understanding into sustainable practice.

Our work focuses on the inner conditions that influence what happens next: self-awareness, stress regulation, emotional literacy, communication, critical thinking, relational capability and self-leadership.

  1. 01

    State

We help people understand how internal state — biology, stress, belief, experience and environment — can shape perception and behaviour.

  2. 02

    Capacity

Awareness creates an opportunity to respond with greater intention; to regulate under pressure, widen perspective, and interrupt automatic reactions.

  3. 03

    Behaviour

Those capabilities become practical skills that enhance situational awareness, empathy, communication and decision making, and give greater agency to respond differently.

  4. 04

    Impact

Behaviour impacts relationships, teams, classrooms and communities. And, when repeated across enough people and places, culture and systems.

Where we create impact

One foundation. Many places it shows up.

The human capacities beneath behaviour don't belong to one industry or one part of life. We carry them everywhere.

They ripple into our choices, our relationships, workplaces, and communities we're part of. That is why The Human Impact Project works across the places where people spend their lives, shape one another and contribute to something larger than themselves.

How we do the work

Research. Education. Human-centred practice.

Society keeps calling them strategy problems. Most of them are human ones — miscommunication, burnout, disconnection, low trust, reactive decisions, cultural friction. These aren't isolated issues. They're signals of the human state beneath the system. We work on them through three mechanisms:

01

Research & Knowledge

Translating evidence from neuroscience, psychology, health science, behavioural science, contemplative practice and systems thinking into ideas people can actually use.

02

Education & Capability Building

Keynotes, workshops, licensed training and accreditation that build practical capacity for regulation, communication and self-leadership — in organisations, schools and communities.

03

Partnerships & Initiatives

Working directly alongside workplaces, education systems and community organisations to apply this thinking where it's needed, not just where it's easiest.

PERSONAL LEADERSHIP

Knowledge changes very little if the individual or group does not have the state, awareness or capacity required to use it.

Heart + mind

Human performance depends on integration.

State + awareness

Heart

  • Physiology
  • Emotion
  • Body signals
  • Relational awareness
  • Values and care

The bridge between them

Coherence

  • The capacity to remain sufficiently organised internally that emotion, physiology and cognition can work together rather than pressure automatically determining the response.

Thinking + interpretation

Mind

  • Attention
  • Perception
  • Critical thinking
  • Working memory
  • Judgement
  • Planning

Coherence is about preserving capacity.

That's why The Human Impact Project works in the places and spaces that matter.

Programs & Offerings

Ways to work with The Human Impact Project.

Our work brings together insights from neuroscience, psychology, health science, behavioural studies, leadership research, contemplative practice and systems thinking, with careful attention to what the evidence actually supports.

Through powerful storytelling, practical tools, and science-backed insight, we illustrate how stress can quickly turn into risk, conflict, poor judgement, or disengagement — and how greater self-awareness can create stronger leadership, healthier culture, and more meaningful change.

Sessions can be delivered standalone or combined into a tailored program built around your workplace, school or community.

Mental Health First Aid training

Building confidence to recognise when someone may need support.

Mental Health First Aid is an Internationally recognised, practical skills-based training that gives individuals and leaders greater confidence to recognise and respond when a colleague or another adult may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis.

Human connection

Your state enters the room long before your words do.

HUMAN IMPACT INSIGHTS

Research grounded in the science of being human.

The Human Impact Research Library brings together peer-reviewed research on the conditions that shape human wellbeing, behaviour and performance across workplaces, schools, communities and everyday life.

Our goal is to make credible ideas accessible with a research library that provides access to the original source alongside a short summary of why it might matter to you. Everything that we do is the culmination of science and lived experience, so the practice stays grounded in more than opinion.

From insight to practice

Knowing the procedure matters. So does the state of the human being expected to apply it.
